VIII. A Statement of boards, councils, committees and other bodies consisting two or more persons constitutes as its part or for the purpose of advice and as to whether meetings of those boards, councils, committees and other bodies are open to the public or the minutes of such meetings are accessible for public.

Delhi Library Board, the governing body of Delhi Public Library consists of 15 members headed by Chairman, nominated by the Minister of Culture, Government of India. The following is composition of Delhi Library Board:

• Two members representing Ministry of culture, Govt.of India.

• Two members representing Directorate of Education/Higher Education, Govt of NCT Delhi.

• One member nominated by President, NDMC from amongst member of the Committee.

• Two member nominated by Mayor, MCD from amongst member of Corporation.

• One member nominated by Speaker, Delhi Legislative Assembly from amongst

  the member of Delhi Assembly.

• One member representing UNESCO.

• Not more than Four Experts whose technical qualifications or special experience are likely to be useful to the Board in its work to be co-opted by the Board .

Director General, DPL will be ex-officio member/ Secretary of the Board.

In addition there are various sub committees constituted by the Board to organize various activities namely:

1. Executive Committee

2. Finance and Establishment Committee

3. Book Advisory Committee for English, Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu languages

4. Departmental Promotion committee.

The above committee very often meets in a year to take stock of activities being pursued and gives advice and direction for future work. The minutes of the meetings are well documented and also circulated to all officers for follow up action. An Action Taken Report ( ATR) is presented and discussed in each subsequent Board meeting. The meetings of the above committee/Board meeting are not open to public and minutes of such meeting are not accessible to public.
